A couple of weeks ago, JF Fabrics and Adavi Fig held a webinar discussing the 4 Ps (People, Productivity, Processes, and Promotion) of growing an online business. Over the next few weeks, Catherine will be sharing “Tech Tips for Designers” in each of these four areas.
In this video we are talking about how to connect with clients, team members, and vendors remotely or virtually. Whether you want to start an online business, or transition to offering online design services, you’ll learn some strategies for building relationships virtually.
Technology is amazing, it helps us automate and connect in ways like never before. But there’s a fine line between leveraging technology and maintaining a personalized relationship with your clients. Here are my 5 tips for designers to stay connected to the people in your business and build relationships remotely:
Tip 1: Network like you would in person.
Tip 2: Use video as much as possible.
Tip 3: Allow for flexibility in boundaries, but respect boundaries.
Tip 4: Schedule time to connect off the record.
Tip 5: Use technology to connect.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. You can email Catherine directly at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a business assessment and discuss how you can use technology as a designer in your online business.
